little things

You are such a girl.

It’s always dresses, you get excited about a new outfit, insist on wearing it immediately and you ask for your favourites repeatedly.

You wear your fairy outfits almost every day. Sometimes you sleep in one.

You love shoe shopping and you know what you like, and what you don’t. It’s instant, and you don’t change your mind.

You love to get your hair cut, love the fussing and the mirrors and the lollipop at the end. When we dry your hair after a bath you like to play “hairdresser” and we talk about the fact that you are going out that evening, for ice-cream, with your Aba.

Sometimes you call out “help me Fireman Sam”.

Your favourite book is this version of Cinderella, and you often refer to your sandals as your “glass slippers”.

You dance.

You pick flowers and like me to thread them through your hair.

This Friday on the Kew common we watched a bridal party come out of a church and you watched in awe, turning to me to say “mama, I want to get married”

I don’t know where you get it from.

You enchant me.
